Yoga Therapy is the art and science of applying yogic principles to enhance wellbeing, overcome illness and live a healthier and more meaningful life. Being a Yoga Therapist is a rewarding career whereby we can assist our students beyond just asana and pranayama and help them become well grounded in yogic lifestyle, diet and the therapeutic use of yoga both preventatively and to overcome illness.
This Graduate Program is one of the few graduate Yoga Therapy courses available in Australia which is registered with the AAYT. This course is suitable for yoga teachers and practitioners with an interest in the therapeutic application of yoga in a clinical setting. Yoga therapists are skilled at assessing physical and subtle bodies and prescribing treatment protocols within the yogic framework. This course brings together the therapeutic indications and techniques given in classical yoga texts with the latest in yoga therapy research and evidence based practices from other health professions.
The course is co ordinated by Dr Jean Byrne and Chandrika Gibson and includes presentations by psychologist Rob Schutze. The course is structured in three modules.
