We all know Stretch's teachers are the most fun, most knowledgeable and plain raddest in Brisbane (amiright!) - and now we present you with the opportunity to be one of them! We've heard your requests, and have finally decided to take the plunge with the aim of creating the most comprehensive yoga training we possibly could!
Forget boring - Stretch's teacher training is filled with interactive workshops, hands on teaching, real life skills in marketing and finding teaching jobs and more! You'll learn, you'll laugh, and most importantly you'll walk out feeling confident to teach multiple styles of yoga - our graduates will be trained in vinyasa, hatha, yin, prenatal, meditation, yoga nidra, restorative yoga and myofascial release!
Run by Senior Teacher Miriam Van Doorn and supported by Stretch owner PJ Wells, Stretch Yoga's teacher training is by far one of the most comprehensive in Australia. Offering both 200hr and full 350hr options, Stretch's teacher training has more face-to-face contact hours than any other course in Brisbane!
Add 2 retreats at a beautiful Byron Bay oasis plus classes at our beautiful studios and you can see why this is more than just a training - it's a journey!
The Stretch Yoga Academy teacher training program is broken into 2 offerings:
- a shorter 200hr Level 0/1 program designed for students looking to advance their practice and delve deeper into the study of yoga (7 weekends plus 1 x 3 day retreat). This constitutes a total of 138 contact hours, 60 recorded additional hours in the student logbook and completion of homework and assignments. Students are encouraged to complete at least 30 x 1 hr yoga classes at Stretch as part of the program.
We recommend the 200 hr option for trainees looking to deepen their yoga practice who may not wish to teach upon completiong of the course.
– a full 350hr Level 1 comprehensive program designed for students intending to become yoga teachers (11 weekends plus 2 x 3 day retreats). This constitutes a total of 227 contact hours, 123 recorded additional hours in the student logbook and completion of homework and assignments. Students are encouraged to complete at least 50 x 1 hr yoga classes at Stretch as part of the program.
We recommend the 350 hr option for trainees looking to pursue a career in yoga teaching.
Each weekend comprises of a mixture of guided self-practice of techniques and poses and analytical training in how to teach and practice techniques and poses.
Each day of training will run from 8:30am until 5:30pm with a 1 hour lunch break (total 8 hours). Students of the course must have completed at least 1 year of regular personal practice before being accepted into the course.
