The program that we offer in the school is a pathway to deepen understanding about how "yoga becomes the teacher of yoga". We engage directly in questions about how students actually learn to be practitioners of yoga. We have subjects on the theory and methods of teaching as well as theory and philosophy of yoga.
The program accepts new students every July and the cost is $550 + gst per term. Each term includes 33 contact hours which are comprehensively supported by online study material including reading, audio and video materials. The complete course is 12 discrete terms of study (4 each year) which can be undertaken over a period of up to 8 years and in not less than 3 years. The completed course is 402 hours. After attending an intake term, (July each year) students are able to attend on a term by term basis as suitable within their lifestyle commitments.
Each term requires attendance in an 18 hour weekend program of sessions including practicums and theory components, some of which require pre-attendance assignment work. There is also a week of early morning classes in each term (these asana immersion weeks are part of an existing program of classes offered at our Hervey Bay school) Students enrolled in the program also attend in the capacity as 'observers' and later as 'assistants' in 4 classes each term. These classes are selected from a timetable of classes on the Hervey Bay School of Yoga timetable.
