Eve Grzybowski is one of Australia’s best-known and beloved yoga teachers. 2020 was her 40th year of teaching yoga.

After intensive training in the Iyengar method under Martyn Jackson, Eve went on to develop her own personal style of Yoga with an emphasis on love, compassion and trust.

She founded two yoga studios in Sydney, Sydney Yoga Centre 1985, and Simply Yoga 2000.

Besides yoga, writing is a passion. Eve has two published books, Teach Yourself Yoga' and The Art of Adjustment, written many yoga-related articles, as well as over 1200 posts at her blog, ‘Yoga Suits Her’ (eve yoga.com).

In recent years Eve has concentrated on training yoga teachers and deepening her skills in yoga therapy. To that end, she has completed a year-long course called Midwifeing Death to better understand the end stage of life. For the last 6 years, Eve has been a Palliative Care Volunteer in the Manning Valley, NSW.

Eve lives semi-rurally in a small intentional community of three couples and teaches in the Yoga Shed on her property, as well as in other parts of Australia.

Over the last several years, Eve has been convening a group of yoga teachers to do monthly yoga practice. The practice is led by one of the group and the venues rotate--from Bulahdelah to Laurieton. The intention of these gatherings is to connect in a supportive, non-competitive way and to welcome new teachers into the circle of more seasoned teachers.

Donna Cavanough, Yoga Teacher

Being a yoga student of Eve's is so rewarding! She has a way of fine tuning each students experience of yoga so that a posture can be approached freshly and mindfully each time, again and again. Eve is compassionate and passionate, humane and humorous and her classes involve laughter and support as well as 1001 things to do with a bolster, a chair, a strap, a block. Whether a beginner or a practised yogi each student will benefit from Eve's extensive teaching experience and nurturing and encouraging approach to her students. Eve makes practice a pure pleasure. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to benefit from her teaching and am looking forward to more!

A striking moment of my first yoga class at 15-years old with you has underpinned my total experience of yoga to date. Time stopped or seemed to recoil on itself, everything went slow mo....I felt that I was 'sitting inside myself', while at the same time watching from the outside. I felt an insurmountable amount of stillness, clarity and freedom.... I stayed with you for almost two years.

Thank you, Eve. From my aged perspective, I can only say that your yoga teachings over these past several years of my life have helped me enormously in coping with the aging process. I do my best to spread the word and hopefully share your enthusiasm with others. I'm eternally grateful.

Thank you for sharing the courageous side of ageing. You are the main person in my life that inspired me to do a daily yoga practice. Thank you for your wisdom and your inspiration. I am in my 60th year now and look forward to a healthy life. So far so good !! and I strongly believe it is because of yoga.
