Welcome to Green Belt Yoga in Leeton, NSW.

Hatha yoga has been a part of my life since my early teens and I have been teaching now for over 15 years. Before moving to Leeton, I trained and taught in Byron Bay, Sydney and Newcastle. I hold a BA and a Certificate IV in yoga teaching. I have also undertaken further studies in pre/post-natal yoga and the applied anatomy and physiology of hatha yoga.

Over the years, my yoga sadhana has evolved and matured along with my teaching. Naturally I have become passionate about crafting yoga practices that are relevant and sustainable for all ages and abilities. I enjoy working with mixed level classes where we can adapt and modify the practice to suit both beginners and beyond. I credit this approach to my studies with Yoga Synergy and I am strongly influenced and inspired by their system as taught by Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss.

My classes are designed to give you an authentic experience of yoga, using mindful movement and breath work as a vehicle to connect more deeply to your true nature. On a physical level, you will learn about active movement and intelligent sequencing to enhance and regulate the flow of energy throughout your body. You will build greater strength and mobility with regular practice, as well as bringing your body and mind into alignment. I enjoy offering personalised guidance and yoga therapy for injuries/special conditions as well as playful sequences to challenge more experienced students. Whether you attend a gentle or dynamic class, you will ultimately work toward feeling more grounded and inwardly peaceful.

Green Belt Yoga was born in 2011, shortly after I moved to Leeton with my family. The name reflects the rich agricultural surrounds of our new home and a special opportunity to share my love of yoga with this community.

I run weekly public classes within four terms throughout the year. Classes cater for all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to experienced yoga students. Individual tuition, private group classes and corporate sessions are available. I also have extensive experience in guiding meditation, yoga nidra and restorative yoga.

Green Belt Yoga is based in a tranquil and centrally located loft studio in Leeton (34 Kurrajong Avenue). This quiet and light-filled retreat is a fully equipped and dedicated yoga space. Class sizes are kept small to allow for personalised instruction and to address individual needs. Our warm and friendly studio is the perfect place to awaken your inner light.

Renee Pettit

I have thoroughly enjoyed yoga practice this year and definitely feel the benefits physically and mentally- yoga is a real highlight in my week!

Karen Eckley

I started yoga to 1) get some exercise & 2) satisfy my curiosity (I had always found yoga a little "mysterious" and often wondered what really went on in those classes). I've found that there can be both men & women of varying ages & levels of fitness all in one class, yet they are all catered for and challenged to suit their individual situation through variations of the poses offered. The studio itself is calm and very welcoming. The first benefit I noticed for myself was a beautiful, solid night's sleep following evening practice. The next was how amazing my back felt! I always leave the studio feeling flexible and energised, yet calm and peaceful at the same time. Many more surprises have followed...... Katie is a highly skilled, articulate & generous teacher, and is very passionate about what she does. I thoroughly recommend Katie's classes!

Lynne Pigram

It took me months of persuasion from my friends to join them for Katie's yoga classes, but I was hooked after the first time! As someone who doesn't enjoy sport that much, yoga is something I find thoroughly enjoyable yet beneficial both physically & mentally. AND the last 10 minutes of savasana make it all worth it!
