Kristen is also the Founder of the Mindful Movement centre and Co-Founder of Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Australia TCTSY Australia

Kristen is a practicing infant & parent/child/youth & adult senior Mental Health Clinician, a paediatric Occupational Therapist, Yoga Teacher and internationally certified Yoga Therapist (E-RYT 200 & YACEP Yoga Alliance, Registered Senior Teacher YA, Certified Yoga Therapist IAYT & Accessible Yoga International ambassador), who is currently one of only four Certified TCTSY Facilitators in Australia (TCTSY-F) and one of only a few yoga teachers worldwide who is certified and licensed to deliver TCTSY classes, workshops, training and supervision.  Kristen is also a Mindfulness Meditation Facilitator, and a mother to two fantastic children.

Kristen's love for Mindful Movement and Mindful Living started very early as she was introduced to dance, yoga, creative movement and the healing arts as a very young child by her mother.  Kristen began to regularly practice yoga and meditation in her teens and after assisting her yoga teacher mother in classes, Kristen undertook several years of Yoga teacher training in a variety of yoga styles in the early 2000's, and commenced teaching many forms of yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices to people of all ages and abilities.

In 2007 Kristen was fortunate enough to co-facilitate a yoga class at a children's specialist developmental school, the Yooralla School, to a group of children and youths with disabilities, which was a turning point for her in combining her skills in mental health, as a new OT, and as a yoga teacher.  In 2015, Kristen continued this integration of skills by travelling to Boston to study at the internationally acclaimed Trauma Center at JRI with David Emerson, in the clinical yoga program Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) - endorsed as an evidence based program in the USA by the national body NREPP-SAMSHA. Kristen studied directly with David Emerson for 15 months as a student and Trainer trainee and continues to receive supervision from David Emerson & Jennifer Turner in TCTSY.

Kristen is devoted to fully integrating yoga, mindfulness and mental health and currently offers private and public TCTSY classes, courses, training, supervision and clinical consultation in TCTSY.

""As I often tell my students, the two most important phrases in therapy, as in yoga, are "Notice that" and "What happens next?" Once you start approaching your body with curiosity rather than with fear, everything shifts.""
