Tanya has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, and undertook Teacher Training at Pine Rivers Yoga (Dip PRY) in 2010. Her initial intention was to enhance her own practice, but now she finds joy in the opportunity to share the benefits of yoga and meditation by teaching classes.
Tanya has taken part in many different styles of workshops over the last decade, including Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa and Knoff. Her experience in India at the Association for Yoga and Meditation with Yogi Chetan Mahesh (M. Sc Yoga, M. Ed, ERT-500) was a highlight, and she has begun Level 2 Teacher Training with Flo Fenton at Intouch Yoga, with a strong focus on Yoga Therapy. She has also attended Vipassana Meditation Courses, including several 10-day silent sits, and is working to continuously deepen her meditation practice. She has studied Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation at the Gawler Foundation with Paul and Maia Bedson and is qualified to teach the Gawler Foundation's 8 week MBSM program.
In the past, Tanya has lectured and tutored at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in Film and TV Production, taught media workshops to children (receiving the ATOM (Australian Teachers of Media) Teachers Award in 2008), and more recently she has been teaching Screen Acting workshops and Open Programs for NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art). Now, yoga teaching allows her to combine her love of yoga with her love of teaching.
Tanya is also Assistant Trainer to PRY Principal Ruth Campbell with the Pine Rivers Yoga Teacher Training course and a Registered Level 1 Teacher of Yoga Australia.
