Yoga Australia recommends the following minimum yoga teaching insurance cover for members:

  • $20m Public Liability
  • $5m Professional Indemnity (malpractice), preferably $10m

There are other important considerations, such as cover for student and locum teachers and cover for multiple modalities and coverage overseas.

Portable Business Equipment

The impact of having portable business equipment stolen could be financially devastating. Yoga Australia’s insurance solution provides members with an option to insure your portable business equipment for the following perils:-

  • Accidental loss or damage, Theft from a locked vehicle and Fire
  • Replacement cover for up to $10,000
  • Stock up to $2,000

Portable business equipment can include Yoga props, mats and massage tables, Electronic equipment – tablets, iPod, portable speakers, Business items – smartphones

1 Free legal advice

Must relate to a policy coverage issue

2 Employee Fidelity Cover

Protects the insured against financial loss resulting from fraudulent or dishonest acts by employees.

This can include theft or funds or property.

 3 Statuory Liability

Protects the Insured for claims brought against the insured by an Official Body e.g. NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) & Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) following the actual or alleged breach of any Act of any parliament or legislative body in relation to the provision of healthcare services.

3Run-off Cover

Run-off cover protects professionals against potential claims after they have stopped practicing.  It provides cover for potential incidents which have happened but have not yet been reported to you.

Run-off cover will only be activated if you have retired from practice and notified GSA, prior to the policy expiring. If you continue to see clients in any capacity after expiry then the run-off cover is voided.
