My yoga journey started 30 years ago, when I started taking yoga classes to ease chronic back pain and to improve my general fitness. I worked in the wellness industry as a spa and remedial massage therapist, and later as a college educator. During the course of my career, I developed a passion for teaching anatomy and physiology and increasingly, the mind-body connection and the energetics and philosophy of yoga. I studied the Diploma of Yoga Studies & Teacher Training with Michael de Manincor at the Yoga Institute and further qualified as a children’s yoga teacher with Loraine Rushton at Zenergy Yoga. I also trained in Restorative Yoga with Lizzie Lasater and I completed my Graduate Certificate of Yoga Therapy and Meditation Teacher Certificate with Nikola Ellis at Adore Yoga.
My teaching style follows the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya, and I offer gentle, mindful and breath-centred yoga in a non-competitive and friendly environment. My focus is on teaching therapeutic yoga to seniors, people with chronic health conditions and people with cancer.
