Rita was introduced to yoga in 2000 whilst living in the UK. She immediately realised the benefits that yoga had to offer and immersed herself in her own yoga practice while attending classes. Through yoga Rita discovered a sense of wellbeing physically, emotionally and spiritually.
She continued her yoga journey upon return to Sydney and eventually undertook a teacher training course with the IYTA (International Yoga Teachers Association) qualifying in 2009 and has been teaching since. Rita has enhanced her studies by regularly attending workshops and courses since graduating. She has studied with Judith Hanson Lasater numerous times and in 2012 she successfully completed 22 hours of study with Judith to become a Relax and Renew Trainer (restorative yoga). In 2018 Rita did her Certificate of Completion in Senior's Chair Yoga with IYTA. In January, 2019 Rita completed 50 hours of Teacher Training in Yin Yoga with Sarah Owen.
Rita teaches Hatha style yoga classes, catering for beginners to intermediate. Rita encourages her students to get the most out of their practice believing that yoga is for everyone. She feels that through the practice of yoga all students can gain enormous benefits finding peace and stillness while at the same time keeping the body active, alive and energized. It is her intention that everyone leaves class feeling both refreshed and peaceful. Rita is now introducing Yin classes into her teaching schedule.
Rita also serves on the NSW IYTA committee, assisting to arrange workshops and retreats for its members.
